Summary

A respectable gentleman disappears under mysterious circumstances after being seen entering a notorious opium den along the Thames.

When his desperate wife seeks help, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson travel to the seedy riverside district to investigate. Inside the grim establishment, Holmes encounters a grotesque beggar with a twisted lip who appears to be the last person to see the missing man alive. But as Holmes studies the strange details of the case (the locked room, the discarded clothing, and the puzzling testimony), he begins to suspect that the truth may be far more surprising than anyone imagined.

Adapted from the story by Arthur Conan Doyle, “The Man with the Twisted Lip” is a classic Sherlock Holmes mystery featuring disguise, deception, and one of the detective’s most unexpected solutions.
