About this listen

I don’t do September. Never have. It’s gloomy, heavy, full of transitions I didn’t ask for – and don’t get me started on the romanticised version of autumn. 🍂 Crisp air and golden leaves? Pah! For those of us with animals and outdoor lives, it signals the start of six long months of mud and misery.

In this very honest (and slightly ranty) episode, I share:

  • Why September hits hard for me every year

  • The realities of autumn vs the Pinterest version

  • How this season can trigger SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) – and why it’s so important to check in on yourself and others

  • Why birthdays, anniversaries, and seasonal shifts can sneak up as emotional review points

  • The importance of letting the grouch out – don’t bottle it

  • And why the shortest day of the year is my version of Christmas

✨ It’s all about acknowledging the low points, digging into the gloom, then finding your glimmer of hope – however small it might be.
