About this listen

Today we’re joined by American pro cyclist Scott McGill, who just signed with Modern Adventure and is gearing up for a massive 2026 season. Known for his sprinting power and big race results—including two stage wins at the 2022 Volta a Portugal, a 2024 Tour of the Gila stage win, and a Redlands Classic stage win—Scott is one of the most exciting U.S. pros to watch. He also coaches athletes and co-hosts the popular cycling podcast Bonk Bros.

In this episode, we talk about his move to Modern Adventure, his development as a rider, and we also dig deep into one of the most debated topics in endurance training: Zone 2. Is it overhyped? Misunderstood? Essential? Scott gives his honest take as both a pro racer and coach.

And of course… we hit him with rapid-fire questions you don’t want to miss.
