This week starts with a message from Sam about what's going on with your favourite podcast - essentially, don't panic, we will return in 2026!

Instead of our normal Christmas film, we celebrate the festive period watching Nicolas Cage and John Travolta go absolutely bananas in John Woo's Face/Off. Join us as we discuss the plausibility of assuming someone's identity, we pitch Jurassic Face/Off and Menage a Face, and Sam has a terrible cold but has hopefully cut out most of his snuffling, sorry if he hasn't.

This week, we find yet another excuse to watch Star Trek, as Chris' film Time Travel is Dangerous has now hit streaming platforms across the UK, and will soon be available in the US! To celebrate we watch another time-travel comedy, its The Voyage Home! Completing our Proper Episode rewatch of the Khan trilogy, join us as we discuss Bird of Prey schematics (obvs), unnecessary aquariums, the crew's questionable hygiene, and - for probably the 100th time - marvel at the comedy genius of Scotty at the aluminium factory.

Next week, we come the closest yet to actually watching a horror film for halloween, only missing it by 6 days - it's Resident Evil!

This week Chris uses AI to try and solve the mystery of a long-forgotten childhood film, and predictably AI gets it wrong. No matter, we watch Explorers anyway, a black hole in our collective nostalgia knowledge, in which Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix and some other guy make their film debuts, spend a long time building a spaceship, and then make first contact in the least climactic way possible.
