  • Schall We Talk Episode 11 - Happy Thanksgiving!
    Nov 27 2025

    Happy Thanksgiving, KIDS!

In this episode of Schall We Talk, Robyn kicks off the holiday by sharing what she’s truly grateful for this year: Security (yes, really), the kids, her parents, CIA, and of course, Dr. Piano Man. She also recaps her whirlwind California week:

    • Getting the key to the city of Plymouth
    • Cheerleading with Stanford University at their big game
    • The surprise turnout of KIDS who drove hours just to be there

Then we go full Thanksgiving chaos:

    • Robyn and Security read “I’m thankful for…” submissions from the KIDS… except Robyn secretly asked everyone to send in fake, unhinged ones to prank him.
    • Security brings back his Mediocre News Anchor segment with Thanksgiving-themed stories:
      • Oreo’s bizarre Thanksgiving cookie collection
      • A real-life “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” turkey trot warning
      • Jell-O’s strange holiday molds
    • Robyn and Security play a Thanksgiving Q&A game about traditions, favorite memories, and how Robyn and Dr. Piano Man now celebrate with reality TV, Chinese food, and cake straight out of the pan with a fork.

Plus, Mama Schall calls in for a health update on Papa Schall, shares what she’s grateful for, and gives the official Patreon Producer shout-outs.

Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, half-listening while cooking, or watching from another country where this is just a random Thursday, you’re part of this family and we’re so thankful you’re here. ❤️

  • Schall We Talk Episode 10 - Marissa Rosen
    Nov 20 2025

Robyn sits down with her lifelong friend and Broadway powerhouse Marissa Rosen to talk about growing up together on Long Island, chasing big theater dreams, and what it actually feels like to make your Broadway debut. Marissa shares how she landed “For the Girls” with Kristin Chenoweth, the very un-glamorous story behind her onstage concussion in Water for Elephants, and what it’s like to be the “character type” in an industry obsessed with leading ladies. They reminisce about middle school elections, bad wigs, and high school musicals, then wrap things up with a chaotic musical-humming game and a sweet (and slightly unhinged) drop-in from Mama Schall.

    In this episode:

Robyn explains why this is actually episode 11, not 10, and what happened to the “lost” triathlon episode

How Robyn and Marissa met in pre-K and ended up doing school musicals together (Into the Woods, Jack’s mom, Little Red, the whole thing)

Marissa’s early break in My Big Gay Italian Wedding and how that show opened doors in NYC

The midnight “Broadway booty call” that led to her debut in For the Girls with Kristin Chenoweth

The moment onstage when she got to say, “I’m making my Broadway debut right now” and the theater exploded

Life as a working performer: off-Broadway, tours, workshops, and why being a “type” can actually be your superpower

The Water for Elephants concussion story: weighted hula hoops, flying rope, and finishing the show anyway

Bat Boy at City Center: massive theater, short rehearsal window, and stepping into Marissa Jaret Winokur’s role

Robyn & Marissa swap memories of middle school: class president, speeches, and failed treasurer campaigns

A musical humming game that completely falls apart (and somehow still lands on Little Shop and Sound of Music)

Quick chat about Marissa’s Christmas tour with Jessica Vosk and her holiday album with Marty Thomas, The Award Winning Holiday Album

Mama Schall calls in for the Patreon producer shout-outs and a tiny dose of chaos

  • Schall We Talk Episode 9 - Mama Schall
    Nov 13 2025

This week Robyn sits down with the one and only Mama Schall to talk about what it was like raising a child with Perthes disease, keeping a marriage strong and why laughing through the worst moments kept their whole family afloat.

    This episode includes

    • Robyn’s Perthes story: the misdiagnoses, the house-call doctor, years of braces, surgeries, bone spurs, and learning to walk again
    • The hospital days: turning the den into a mini hospital, a recliner tipping over, emergency surgeries, and gift-shop bribes
    • How Mama Schall handled the day-to-day: therapy for the whole family, negotiating braces, advocating at school, and keeping everyone mentally OK
    • Marriage talk: meeting Papa Schall at 16, the “magic lock” trick, and 52 years of laughter
    • Parenting advice: teenage daughters, staying open when kids are struggling, dealing with anxiety, and why work ethic matters more than career choice
    • What people don’t know about Robyn: the mushy center, the anxiety, and why rainy days still hurt
    • Engagement secrets: how Mama Schall kept the proposal plan hidden for two months
    • Grandpa Louie’s best sayings and Mama Schall’s final message: find joy, surround yourself with good people, and don’t sweat the small stuff
