    Jesus is oppositional.

There's no whitewashing about it. The message that He came to preach cut against the old religious system. It cut against the culture of His Jewish contemporaries. It cut against the rich + the poor. No one was safe.

And neither are we. As C.S. Lewis put it so well in his Chronicles of Narnia series - referring to Azlan (the character representing Jesus): "Safe? Who said anything about safe? Of course He isn't safe! But...He's good."

In this sermon - Pastor Kevin considers the "oppositional" nature of the Gospel and of Christianity (this "sect that everywhere is spoken against" - Acts 28:22). Listen and consider how the Gospel is opposing you! And how to find the "life" that it promises, underneath it all.

  • 8.17.2025 "Acts 27"
    Aug 17 2025

As the book of Acts nears its end - things are getting worse and worse for Paul. He's a prisoner, awaiting a trial that has taken years to set up, constantly facing mobs and death threats against his life.

And, to make matters worse, in Acts 27 he finds himself in the middle of a savage storm.

But, in the midst of the storm, we don't see a Paul rattled by the challenges he's facing; instead we see a Paul dripping with calm and confidence - in the face of disaster.

How does Paul manage to keep his composure? What did he know that would help us face the storms of our lives? And how is God connected to it all?

Listen as Pastor Kevin walks through Acts 27 and teaches on "the God of the storm."

  • 8.10.2025 "Acts 23-26"
    Aug 10 2025

Paul has been arrested in Jerusalem and now he's brought before governors and kings fulfilling what Jesus foretold in Matthew 10:17-20.

In each situation, Paul is given the opportunity to speak and he takes the opportunity. He tells his story and as he's telling his story he always centralizes his life on the message of Jesus' death and resurrection.

Each Christian has a story to tell because each Christian is a walking talking testimony to the work of Jesus in the world.

Pastor Aaron helps us think about our own stories and how we might tell those stories in order to point people to Jesus.
