Kwa kuutambua ukweli kuwa kabla ya ukombozi wake mwili wake ulikuwa umehukumiwa kifo na Sheria ya Mungu, basi ndio maana Mtume Paulo alilifanya ungamo lake kwa kuamini kuwa alikuwa ameifia dhambi katika Yesu Kristo. Kabla hatujakutana na haki ya Mungu—yaani kabla hatujazaliwa upya—sisi ambao tunamwamini Kristo tulizoea kuishi chini ya himaya na laana ya Sheria. Hivyo, ikiwa tusingekutana na Yesu ambaye ametuletea haki ya Mungu basi Sheria ingeendelea kututawala.
