About this listen
Round one, fight! Achara watches the 1994 movie Street Fighter for the very first time! Based on the popular Nintendo game, in Street Fighter, a military commander leads a team of fighters on a mission to stop a power-hungry dictator from taking over the world.
Street Fighter (1994) was directed by Steven E. de Souza (Die Hard, 48 Hrs., Commando). The film stars Jean-Claude Van Damme (Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Timecop) as Colonel Guile, the determined military leader out to stop a global threat. Raul Julia (The Addams Family, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Moon Over Parador) plays the villainous General M. Bison in his final film role. Ming-Na Wen (Mulan, The Joy Luck Club, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) portrays Chun-Li, a journalist seeking revenge against Bison. Damian Chapa (Blood In, Blood Out, Under Siege, El Padrino) takes on the role of Ken Masters, while Byron Mann (The Big Short, Arrow, Altered Carbon) plays his best friend and fellow street fighter, Ryu. Kylie Minogue (Moulin Rouge!, San Andreas, Bio-Dome) appears as Cammy, Guile’s loyal second-in-command. Wes Studi (Dances with Wolves, The Last of the Mohicans, Avatar) portrays Sagat, a powerful crime boss, while Andrew Bryniarski (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Batman Returns, Any Given Sunday) takes on the role of Zangief, Bison’s muscle-bound enforcer. The film blends action, campy humor, and over-the-top performances in a live-action adaptation of the popular video game franchise.
