The retaliation that followed — professional exclusion, replacement without due process, and frozen grievance channels — is precisely what independent tribunals like SKAO’s IET are meant to prevent under international administrative law. The public should understand that this isn’t an attack on astronomy; it’s about restoring accountability in one of the world’s most expensive publicly-funded science projects. The science deserves better governance than it’s currently getting.
