Sweat For Vets 10k 1st overall

Got 1st overall and king of the mountain (1st top top powerline)

Was a awesome day.

Felt spectacular today. I could have dropped 3-4 mins off time if i needed to. Wasnt pushed. Started little hotter then wanted to but once we hit climb took over. The course this year was 15-20% harder then previous years. The reason is the powerline had the rocks all scabuttled. So you couldnt find a path to actually run up it so it was way slower then last year where there was a path you could actually run. Same with the technical downhill all the rocks were like pointed up. Im not even exaggerating, ask others who ran. You literally had run on the tops of the pointed rocks to go down on the downhill. So it was way slower as well. I powered up the hill. Made myself a couple min lead easily. Id look back and see no one. I also as power walked up tucked in close to all grass and hunched over so noone could see me. So little sneaky. But yea made to top with at least 2 min lead if not 3 or 4. Lost a ton on the downhill since i was not willing risk falling and getting hurt. Plus again couldnt run it as much as years past. Once popped out bottom of technical downhill all of a sudden I got a huge speed burst and body literally told me "lets go". I took off fast and hard and was running 6s rest of way. I was flying and felt great. It was magical. Once I hit road I looked back no one in sight. At turn around i had solid 2 min lead. I dropped 6:00-605 rest of race. And i felt could have went faster then that but felt so comfortably easy to hit that pace. Came in with like 4 min lead. It was a great day. Though I won still easily as I said, could dropped few more mins off time easily. So happy to finally win the 10k. Couple years ago I got sent wrong way while I was in lead by minutes and ended up losing. So redemption finally.
