In elke stad lagen toen tientallen, soms zelfs honderden dancings – ja, die heetten toen al zo – en ze zorgden vaak ook voor de nodige ‘hinder’. “Het NIMBY-syndroom is niet nieuw.”
Ooggetuigen van het Gentse nachtleven in die tijd zijn er nog amper, maar er zijn gelukkig wel erfgoedexpert Cor Van Istendael en Marta Michna, die in 2008 een thesis schreef over het nachtleven in Gent tijdens het interbellum.
