About this listen
In this episode we dig into a jaw-dropping mix-up in Queensland, Australia — where for years students in Year 12 across the state had been studying the Roman emperor Augustus Caesar… only to discover, just days before their final ancient-history exam, that the real topic for 2025 was his great-uncle Julius Caesar. The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) says the change was communicated more than a year ahead, but at least nine schools—and about 140 students—weren’t switched over in time. The error triggered last-minute cram sessions, huge anxiety, and a review of how curriculum changes are communicated.
