 El Marqués de la Conquista de Trujillo se hizo con casi todo el valle del Río Viejas, Torneros y hasta cerca de la población de Robledollano donde tuvo importantes propiedades. Una de ellas fue el Sanatorio construido en este pueblo. Se sitúa muy cerca de la Ermita de la Virgen de las Nieves, rodeado de una bellísima plantación de castaños.
