About this listen
Ex-teacher, musician, pop-culture author, surfer and former surf shop owner Murray Walding speaks with the Radio Show about his discovering Victorian coastal town Lorne, in the Summer of Love, 1967. With great surf, a great vibe, The Wild Colonial Club, The Arab Coffee Shop and Rotten Ronnie's Burger Bar, Murray became hooked and soon moved to the area. Murray also speaks about the transition from longboards to short boards and back again, Claw and Sing-Ding and the opening of The Bells Beach Surf Shop, the showing of surf movies, joining the acid jazz/pop band The Beachniks...and watching Rotten Ronnie have a panic attack when his hamburger making machine broke down.
