El Apóstol Pablo se da cuenta de la fe vulnerable que tenían los cristianos romanos, por lo que tiene el deseo de aclararles muchas dudas e instruirles en convicciones de fe, ya que la cultura romana era muy perversa y ésta era regida por los emperadores autoproclamados como "Césares" en sus propios evangelios. Por esto Pablo, les hace ver que su fe no debe ser avergonzada (débil), puesto que su fe estaba puesta en un evangelio de salvación, el de Jesucristo nuestro Señor y Salvador.
