About this listen
Richard Diamond Private Detective "The Eddie Garrett Case" (August 27, 1949)
Seventeen-year-old Eddie Garrett seems to be following in his brother's footsteps...right to the electric chair! After the case, Dick Powell sings, "Where Are You?" + Diamond receives a call from Lieutenant Walter Levinson. A prisoner, Bill Garrett, who is in the nearby prison has asked as his last request that Diamond visit him before he goes to the electric chair at eight o'clock that evening. The guy that he shot had a wife and two kids, so Diamond is not too keen on going to see someone who he himself despises. Garrett has a young brother called Eddie. He wants Diamond to try and get Eddie back on the right tracks, a pretty impossible task!
