Hello, I’m Gail Nobles, and you’re listening to Podcast Grooves. Today’s topic is Pianist Ricardo Scales. According to his bio, he began playing piano at San Fransciso’s historic Redwood Room at the Clift Hotel. He attracted the attention of critics, musicians, and concert-goers alike. Artists such as Billy Joel, Harry Connick, Jr., Liza Minnelli, and Joe Cocker are among the many who visited Ricardo at the Redwood Room to join him on a number or two.
Ricardo has a single released titled, “I Am Yours”. I love the beginning of the music. It sounds like Hiphop R&B. You will think that they’ll be no other genre added, but if you keep listening, you’ll hear a touch of Jazz. You’ll hear Ricardo playing the piano. You will think it’s nothing more than an instrumental. If you listen long enough, you’ll hear him singing, “I’m Yours”.
