California Is now the first state to collect data specifically for African American descendants of persons enslaved in the United States, starting with state employees. Signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom, including CJEC's data disaggregation language in the CA budget. CJEC is a California coalition of organizations, associations and community members united for Reparations for Black U.S Slavery Descendants.
