Growing up Melissa was no stranger to the self doubt that so many girls feel everyday! She felt invisible and lacking a safe space to confidently be herself. This feeling took her to hard places that she hopes no girl ever has to reach. However, this journey helped her find her purpose…teaching!

Through 23 years of teaching, Melissa took her experiences and her passion for girls and launched The Girls Positivity Club!
Once a small group of girls from her class, The Girls Positivity Club is now a global movement partnering with parents and their daughters to embrace who they are and learn how to stay positive amidst life's biggest challenges.

  • When Your Daughter Says “I’m Fine” — What It Usually Means and How to Respond
    Jan 27 2026

Welcome to Raising Confident Girls. In this episode, Melissa Jones explores a moment every parent knows well—the simple, loaded response: “I’m fine.” What sounds like reassurance often carries much more beneath the surface, especially in conversations between parents and daughters.

With compassion and insight, Melissa unpacks the many meanings behind “I’m fine” and why pushing past it too quickly can unintentionally shut communication down. She explains how timing, tone, and approach matter just as much as good intentions—and how trust is built not through interrogation or fixing, but through patience, presence, and emotional safety.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • What daughters may really mean when they say “I’m fine”
    • Why pressing for answers can sometimes increase emotional distance
    • How timing and approach shape whether girls open up or shut down
    • The importance of building trust without pressure or urgency
    • How to create a safe space for honest, open communication
    • What helps daughters feel understood rather than managed

Join Melissa for this grounding and reassuring conversation that invites parents to slow down, listen more deeply, and lead with empathy—so daughters feel safe enough to share what’s truly going on beneath the surface.

  • You Don’t Have to Say It Perfectly to Help Her
    Jan 23 2026

Welcome back to Pep Talk Friday. In this episode of Raising Confident Girls, Melissa Jones speaks to parents who feel stuck, unsure, or frustrated when conversations with their daughters don’t go as planned.

Melissa reminds parents that connection—not perfection—is what truly matters. She reassures listeners that their children aren’t keeping score of every word or misstep, and that trust isn’t built through flawless communication, but through showing up, staying engaged, and repairing when things feel off. Even the uncomfortable moments can become meaningful when parents are willing to lean in with honesty and presence.

This episode offers a refreshing exhale for parents who worry they’re “doing it wrong,” and a powerful reminder that imperfection doesn’t weaken relationships—it often strengthens them.

    Tune in to discover:

    • Why perfect parenting isn’t the goal (and never was)
    • How connection grows through effort, not flawless conversations
    • Why repairing matters more than getting it right the first time
    • How embracing imperfection builds trust and emotional safety
    • What being truly present looks like, even in uncomfortable moments

This episode is an encouraging reminder that your willingness to show up, listen, and stay connected is more than enough. You don’t have to say the perfect thing—you just have to stay in the relationship.

If this message resonates, consider sharing it with another parent who might need permission to let go of perfection and lean into connection today.
