About this listen

I'm a Generation Xer. I come from a family of Barbers. I was raised as a church-going Christian. My life has been very interesting being raised in these environments. It has shaped how I made decisions, how I raised my own child, my beliefs, the separation of church & God. Deprogramming how I was raised & coming to my own decisions. It's been a deprogramming process for me. I know I'm not the only one.kj Spirituality

    Sep 16 2023
In this episode I talk about my grandparents. My grandpa (papo) worked alongside my dad as a barber. He was also an evangelist minister. I talk a lot about the way he was & how much I would have clashed with him as an adult. Comparing my dad's parents with my mom's parents were night & day different. Being raised in church & being taught about Satan and burning in hell. I only understood the fear which also went into being scared of the dark & terrified of being kidnapped. Christianity caused trauma that I'm still trying to undo. I'm so thankful my generation, generation X, was always so full of wonder and not just taking things at face value.
