Suor Raffaella Aleotti era Maestra del Concerto e Priora nel Convento di San Vito a Ferrara, dove molte suore cantavano e suonavano sotto la sua direzione negli ultimi anni del Cinquecento. Nata nel 1570, Raffaella, figlia dell’architetto di corte, appartiene a quella schiera di monache provenienti da casate nobili o da famiglie facoltose. Organista e compositrice, Aleotti è notevole per essere stata la prima monaca italiana ad aver pubblicato una collezione di composizioni sacre: le Sacrae cantiones per 5, 7, 8 e 10 voci, stampate a Venezia nel 1593. Inoltre Suor Raffaella aveva un alter-ego: una certa Suor Vittoria, che ha pubblicato madrigali nello stesso anno. Durante la puntata si ascoltano musiche di entrambe.
