En este episodio compartimos un documento sonoro invaluable: una entrevista inédita a Rafael Ithier, realizada en 2014 durante la investigación para una serie sobre Celia Cruz, y rescatada hoy tras su fallecimiento el 6 de diciembre de 2025, a los 99 años.
Fundador y director musical de El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Ithier fue mucho más que un líder de orquesta: fue un artesano del sonido, un músico de disciplina férrea y un creador que nunca perdió la humildad ni el respeto por el oficio. Desde su aprendizaje autodidacta en la infancia, pasando por su etapa creativa durante el servicio militar en Estados Unidos, hasta la construcción de un sonido boricua propio que marcó generaciones, su legado atraviesa la historia de la música latina.
