  • Rae's Corner - Sports Ain't For The Weak
    Aug 23 2025

Rae Shawn got into all things sports with Brittany Arreguin, Anna Noel, Tember Sapphire, Ashlyn Harmon and Courtney Clark Michaels.

Brittany Arreguin is a multiracial contemporary sports romance author. She has loved sports since attending her first baseball game as a child and enjoys writing sports romances with marginalized characters. Brittany lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two cats.

Hi! I’m Anna Noel and I write sports romance and spy romances, which are darker and filled with suspense. I’ve had a passion for football since I was a kid and work hard to write sport-accurate romances.

Ashlyn Harmon is the author of swimming sports romances that are full of swoon-worthy moments, all the found family you could want, and characters who are real and relatable. As a queer and plus size author, she loves writing the kinds of characters who are unapologetically themselves and learning to be confident in their bodies. Her books are authentic in the way they depict people and their imperfections.

Tember is a Caribbean author who loves including her culture and local scenery in her novels. She's passionate about portraying strong women and bipoc representation. A powerhouse in her own daily life, with a masters and bachelors In Sports and Exercise Sciences and a charity organization that supports facilitating the growth of the next generation of strong women in sports, her books have a fun, sexy and very real take on the modern women and the complications of navigating romance.

Award-winning author Courtney Clark Michaels passion for writing strong, independent heroines and smart, sexy men, is rivalled only by her passion for travelling, online shopping, and patting other people's dogs. Courtney writes contemporary and sports romance from the heart of New Zealand's wine growing region.

  • Rae's Corner - Clitorally Correct
    Aug 9 2025

Rae Shawn sits down with Karmen Lee, Ali Williams, Meka James and Laura Gorgoni to talk about sapphic media, relationships, representation and queerness.

Karmen Lee is a lifelong Southerner living it up in Atlanta, Georgia with her kid, her cats, and humidity. When not packing lunches or working her nine-to-five, she can be found drinking coffee too late at night, watching House Hunters International and dreaming up ways to show her readers a good time. She primarily writes sapphic contemporary romance and romcoms.

Laura Gorgoni writes queer fiction with a love for all things eerie, macabre, and just a little unhinged. They have a particular fascination with the rage of women, the messiness of mother-daughter relationships, and the queer subtext that horror has been serving for centuries.

Ali Williams is a sapphic AuDHD author who writes intensely kinky paranormal romances as Ali, and fluffy and spicy age play romances as Ellie Rose.

Meka James is a writer of adult contemporary and erotic romance. When not writing or reading, Meka can be found playing The Sims 3, sometimes Sims 4, and making up fun stories to go with the pixelated people whose world she controls.

Rae Shawn is in conversation with Lady Marie and Lindo Forbes, discussing the approaches readers and writers should, or shouldn’t, take to talking about books publicly.

When is it ok to down a book? Should that stay in the group chat? Are there universal wrongs or rights?

Get into it on this episode of Rae’s Corner.

Lady Marie is a thirty-something, DC native who is decided to take the plunge and write contemporary romance and erotica. Her not-so-secret obsession with reading led to a passion for creating worlds and telling stories that showcase just how beautiful Black love is. When she’s not working on her next project, she’s typically sipping a drink with her friends, watching a comfort movie, or reading her favorite author’s latest release.

Lindo Forbes is an Afro-Latina author of contemporary romance. She speaks enough French to not disgrace herself when she visits Montreal but not enough Spanish to please her abuela. You can find her at her day job or procrastinating on social media. She’s also known for corrupting her nieces and nephews in varied ways, and holding grudges against fictional characters. Her stories are a love letter to her hometown, Toronto.
