Cáceres pretende tener una zona centro con cero emisiones. Una iniciativa que viene dictada por el Gobierno Central npara ciudades que sobre pase cierto número de habitantes, sin embargo los vecinos que viven en la parte antigua de Cáceres no están de acuerdo porque no ven alternativa ni a medio ni a largo plazo según explicaba el presidente de la Asociación de Vecinos de la Ciudad Monumental de Cáceres, Juan Manuel Holgado. "No es justo que, y si bien el turismo es muy importante para Cáceres, no se tenga en cuenta a los vecinos".
