İngiltere doğumlu olan Priscilla Mary Işın aslında York Üniversitesi felsefe mezunu. Asıl mesleğinin çevirmenlik olduğunu söylüyor. Son 50 yıldır Türkiye’de yaşıyor. Kendisi çok önemli bir yemek tarihçisi. 1983 yılından bu yana Türkiye mutfak tarihi üzerine önemli araştırmaları var. Kendisiyle ilgili Nadir Kitap sayfasında bir saptamada, ortalama bir Türk vatandaşından daha “yerli” bir bakış açısına ve amaca sahip olduğunu yazıyor. Öyle doğru ki!
