President's Day - History with Bill Federer of The American Minute
George Washington was born on February 22nd. Americans wanting to celebrate his legacy and memory sought to have a specific day on the calendar to celebrate George Washington. Later, Abraham Lincoln was added, as his birthday was February 12th. In 1971, The Uniform Monday Holiday Act, moved it to a Monday in February for All President's Day. Tune in and listen as Bill Federer gives the history of the man we know as our first President, George Washington, and our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, who saved the Union and ended slavery.
