Out of the depths of despair comes great joy: The Cougars have a new coach, Kirby Moore, and he's doing serious work already. A lot of the roster is staying -- especially on the offensive side -- and he's adding reinforcements already, including a QB from UC-Davis that lit up FCS and a former 4-star burner on the outside from Florida.

As if the vibes weren't already good enough, another piece of delightful news dropped just before we recorded: Washington is losing its quarterback to the portal. Very sad!

After that, we talked men's basketball, which is also trending upward after seeming to figure some things out offensively. Women's basketball, unfortunately, is not trending that direction.

Well ... here we are again. Jimmy Rogers is now the coach at Iowa State after just one season at WSU, and the Cougars are again searching for a someone to lead the football program, just 11 months after doing it the last time. We're pretty mad at Rogers for leaving the way he did, and concerned for what it means going forward.

Yet, we press on, discussing some of the names that intrigue us as replacements.

Plus, we talk men's and women's basketball -- both of which remain dreadful -- trying to figure out what the path is for each to improve, before looking at soccer's new coach, who comes to us from Montana.

    Plus: what we're drinking!

The Cougars are headed to a bowl game after beating Oregon State, and we are beyond thrilled -- it represents a significant milestone in Jimmy Rogers first season that certainly wasn't a foregone conclusion. We talk about that accomplishment, plus how the recruits who were added on Wednesday will fit into the long-term picture at WSU.

Meanwhile, the men's and women's basketball teams are struggling. We dig into what's going on there before turning our attention to the change in soccer coach in Pullman. Todd Shulenberger's departure is a bit of a stunner!
