The Eagles have lost 2 straight, the latest the whipping boy New York Giants in prime time, and now their most productive edge rusher has retired, Za’Darius Smith calling it quits Monday morning. And now, there are also rumors Matvei Michkov is out of shape, leading to low ice time in his first 2 games for Rick Tocchet. It’s a bad start to the week in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia sports misery trifecta hit last night, as the Philadelphia Phillies were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLDS, the Philadelphia Eagles were embarrassed on Thursday Night Football by the New York Giants, and the Philadelphia Flyers dropped the 2025-26 season opener to the defending Stanley Cup champs, the Florida Panthers.
