• Rejoicing In A Sovereign Plan
    Dec 16 2025

This past Sunday, Pastor Steve walked us through Luke 2 and reminded us that God is never reacting—He is ruling. From decrees and journeys to timing and place, every detail moved exactly as the Lord intended, bringing His Son into the world at the appointed moment.

What appears ordinary is often orchestrated. What feels disruptive is often directional. God accomplishes His redemptive purposes through the intentional details of our lives.

    Big Idea:
God’s sovereign plan is accomplished through the intentional details of my life.

    Key Truths:
    • God rules over rulers and history alike.
    • No moment in the life of Christ—and no moment in ours—is wasted.
    • Our confidence rests not in circumstances, but in God’s control.

    Dec 1 2025

Acts 1:6-11 | Pastor Steve Miller

We gathered around God’s Word and were reminded that Jesus sends His church into the world with a clear mission.

    Mission:
Make, mature, and multiply disciples through God’s power and for His glory.

    Big Idea:
The church must be urgently engaged in expanding God’s mission.

    Application:
The church depends fully on the Spirit’s power.
Christ’s return prioritizes urgency and focus.
Expansion is required to accomplish the mission.

  • Shaped By The Gospel
    Dec 1 2025

Pastor Steve walked us through Colossians 3:16–17, showing how the gospel forms the way we live, respond, and worship. When the word of Christ dwells richly in us, our hearts are awakened to His truth. Gratitude becomes our posture, worship becomes our response, and every part of life is offered in the name of Jesus.

    Big Idea:
The gospel shapes how I live and worship.

    Application:
Understanding the gospel guides how I live.
Growth comes when I am open to correction.
    Singing expresses thankfulness to God.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
    (Colossians 3:16 ESV)

    All the glory to God.

  • Learning to Praise
    Nov 17 2025

Learning to Praise | Psalm 150:1–6

This past Sunday, Pastor Steve walked us through Psalm 150 and taught us that praise is not optional—it is commanded, and it is the natural response of a heart awakened to God’s truth. Worship begins with understanding who God is, and true praise engages our whole being.

    Big Idea:

Understanding how to worship leads me to engage in worship.

    Application:

Believers never lack a reason to praise the Lord.

My engagement is essential when the church gathers.

God’s truths are what awaken a response to praise.

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!” (Psalm 150:6 ESV)

    All the glory to God.

Christian Liberty | 1 Corinthians 8:1–13 | Pastor Steve Miller

This week, Pastor Steve opened the Bible to 1 Corinthians 8:1–13 and preached on Christian liberty—how our freedom in Christ is never meant for self-promotion but for the good of others.

True maturity is shown not by knowledge alone, but by love that builds up.
Strong Christians are guided by truth and grace, using freedom not to stumble others but to serve them.

📖 “Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.” (1 Corinthians 8:1 ESV)

  • Undivided Devotion | 1 Corinthians 7:25-40 | Pastor Steve Miller
    Oct 20 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Steve opened the Bible to 1 Corinthians 7:25–40, calling us to live with undivided devotion to Christ.
Paul’s words remind us that life’s focus isn’t on whether we’re single or married, but on how fully our hearts belong to the Lord.
The single person can give their full attention to the things of God, while the married person serves the Lord through faithfulness in their home.
In every season, our goal is the same—to please Christ with a steady heart and a surrendered life.
We’re not defined by our status, but by our Savior.

This week at Heritage, Pastor Steve preached from 1 Corinthians 7:17–24, reminding us that those called by God are to respond to life’s conditions His way.

We’re not defined by our circumstances but by our Savior.
True faith means honoring God right where we are—trusting His call, His timing, and His plan.
