  • Daily Devotions: Never Answer Dishonest People - February 29, 2026
    Feb 28 2026
Mark 11:27–33 (NLT) After Jesus cleansed the temple, the religious leaders confronted Him and demanded, “By what authority are You doing these things?” Jesus responded with a question of His own about John the Baptist’s authority. They refused to answer honestly because they feared the people and wanted to protect themselves. When they said, “We don’t know,” Jesus replied, “Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.” Jesus did not submit Himself to dishonest accountability. These leaders were corrupt. They had turned the temple into a place of exploitation, yet they wanted to challenge Jesus and demand explanations from Him. Jesus exposed their dishonesty first. When they refused to be truthful, He refused to answer. This teaches us an important lesson for life. Accountability is good, but only when it comes from honest people. Do not allow corrupt or dishonest people to sit in judgment over you. Let people of integrity hold you accountable, people who are willing to answer hard questions themselves. Honest accountability brings growth. Dishonest accountability brings control. Jesus shows us the difference. ---- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. • Daily Devotions: The Hunter or the Hunted - February 28, 2026
    Feb 28 2026
Proverbs 11:27 (NLT) - If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you. Here is a simple question: when you walk into a room, what are you looking for? If you search for good, Scripture says you find favor, favor with God and favor with people. Favor is found, not chased. It comes when you intentionally look for what is good in people, in churches, in relationships, and in new opportunities. Some people train themselves to look for faults, sin, and problems everywhere. They think they are being discerning, but Scripture gives a warning. If you search for evil, it will find you. You do not hunt it down. It starts hunting you. Looking for good makes you the hunter. Looking for evil makes you the hunted. Choose what you search for. What you look for determines what follows you. ---- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. Sumrall on Daily Devotions.
