Nonostante Gasperini non abbia potuto schierare numerosi titolari, il divario tra le due squadre si è rivelato enorme fin dai primi minuti di gioco. Ma ci ha pensato Mancini ad equilibrare la partita, facendosi espellere dopo 14 minuti.
Come se non bastasse, un altro errore, stavolta di Ghilardi, ha portato al vantaggio del Panathinaikos. La partita sembrava chiusa, è entrato anche Della Rocca a sottolineare l’assoluta mancanza di cambi all’altezza. Ma nonostante questo la Roma si è dimostrata squadra e diretta da uno scatenato Gasperini, mai seduto in panchina, ha riagguantato la partita con un tuffo di testa, da centravanti vero, di Ziolkovski.
Si rivede anche Angelino e questa, finalmente, è una buona notizia.
La Roma va avanti, con merito, tenacia, convinzione.
