Today on the 5: As the final "Christmas Commentary" film for this week, we watched 1975's Deep Red, aka Profondo Rosso. I was sure I had reviewed this classic from Dario Argento before, but amazingly it doesn't seem that I had. Let's get that corrected right now!

Today on the 5: For one of our commentary films this week we watched a holiday horror classic, 1974's Black Christmas. This may surprise some listeners, but I'd never seen this movie although it's been on my watchlist for quite a while now. Having seen it, I completely agree that this one is a must see regardless of whether you watch it at the holidays or not.

Today on the 5: For one of our commentary films this week, Lando and I watched a Hallmark movie titled My Southern Family Christmas. You read that right, we watched a Hallmark movie! This might seem like a joke, but I wanted to see what a Hallmark film featuring Bruce Campbell would be like. The results shouldn't really be suprising.

Today on the 5: Roguelites are a genre of video game that I have not historically had much interest in. I've tried a few, and whiler I see the appeal of the games, none have really connected with me. That might change in a big way when Carmageddon: Rogue Shift comes out!

Today on the 5: As someone who wanders across various sites that cover movies and television, one of the recurring review subjects right now is IT: Welcome To Derry. Most of the articles feature pictures of the central villain, Pennywise The Dancing Clown. Every time I see them, it reminds me why I think this new version of the character is an example of terrible character design.

Today on the 5: For one of our commentary films this week, Lando and I revisited a sequel neither of us had watched in a long while, 1985's A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. A movie that fell under the shadow of the movies that followed, this one is a lot better than most give it credit for.

Today on the 5: One of our commentary films for this week is Supercop, a Jackie Chan film co-starring Michelle Yeoh. It's certainly a fun enough movie, but after watching so many top level action films, this film is just a bit short in that department.
