About this listen

Orange Juice Optional is a podcast that celebrates both the crazy and serious sides of everyday life. Through the eyes and comfort of a 15-year friendship, and with over 100 years of stories and experiences between them, co-hosts Suzanne and Michelle tackle the ups and downs of their unpredictable empty nest lives. Their stories are relatable, funny and the best part is, they are all absolutely true! While they thought life would get easier after the kids were grown, they’ve since adapted the motto that ‘we couldn’t make this up if we tried’. Now, pop that cork, pour that glass of champagne, and celebrate along with us. Also, remember that no matter the time of day, Orange Juice is optional. This is a judgement free zone, because why would you dilute what is best in life.Copyright 2026 Relationships Social Sciences

  • Boundaries that spark joy
    Feb 3 2026

On this week’s episode of Orange Juice Optional, Suzanne and Michelle talk about boundaries—but not in the traditional sense.

Instead of boundaries that have the potential to create conflict with others, this conversation focuses on the boundaries Suzanne sets _for hersel_f. These are boundaries that are the fully within her control. These boundaries include how she chooses to travel, how she chooses to eat and the personal choices that she makes everyday to help her life feel calmer, lighter, and more joyful.

This episode is about honoring what works for you, making intentional choices, and recognizing that boundaries don’t always have to be about saying no to others—sometimes they are simply about saying yes to yourself.

Then to close out this episode, Suzznne shares this week’s ‘_Something to Sip O_n’ - a quote or thoughtful phrase to carry with you through the week.

    Until next time, cheers everyone!

  • Still Sparking Joy
    Jan 27 2026

On this week’s episode of Orange Juice Optional, Suzanne and Michelle revisit the topic of sparking joy, a conversation that they first explored back in 2021.

As the years pass by, joy changes. What once felt joyful can shift, soften, or take on a whole new meaning. In this episode, they reflect on how joy shows up now, including the little things around their own homes that still spark a smile.

They talk about the different reasons joy appears, the different feelings that it carries, and how sparking joy isn’t always about happiness. Sometimes, it’s all about releasing, letting go, and unburdening yourself.

This is a thoughtful, easygoing conversation about noticing what still matters and allowing joy to evolve with you.

Then to close out the episode, Michelle will share this week’s Something to Sip on.

    Until next time, cheers everyone!!
