• MIAMI WINS 10-3 AT TEXAS A&M IN THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF!! - Orange Bowl Boys Recap Show
    Dec 21 2025

It's a PLAYOFF VICTORY RECAP SHOW!!

Everyone opens with high praise for Corey Hetherman as the defense played absolutely out of their MINDS yesterday, holding Texas A&M to 3 points at Kyle field. Toast lays out the stat of the week - that Miami has allowed only 44 points in the last five games - three of which were conference games, and an SEC Playoff game on the road. There is also a lot of credit and love to go around on the defensive side of the ball.

We have SO much audio to dive into, including Alfre Alvarez's Spanish call of Toney's late touchdown, and we relive Fitzgerald's game-winning interception and talk about how impressive he was in that game, and has been all-season for a freshman. And what a freshmen combo between him and Toney, who were both heroes yesterday. And Mark Fletcher's performance yesterday was impressive enough, but even more so when he talked about consoling Malachi Toney after the costly fumble. That also leads Scoop into a breakdown of the running backs and how (and why) they utilized Mark Fletcher as much as they did yesterday.

There is also high praise for the line of scrimmage, as even Mike Elko said after the game that Miami dominated them in the trenches and how that lost them the game. Rhett Lashley and Eric MacLain from the ACC Network had very high praise for the Canes, saying that the gap between the ACC and SEC has closed significantly, especially when you look at teams like Miami. Plus we get into all the points that were left on the field for Miami yesterday - including CJ Daniels getting a few steps on the defender and the throw coming up a little short, and Malachi's punt return that went all the way down to the 25 and the Canes walked away without points.

The end of the game becomes a point of contention - on whether Malachi should have run out of bounds to set up the game-winning field goal, or to take the TD (as they did) and try to stump A&M offense, which almost blew up in their face. It was still a WILD game and we had a blast taking it all in on our live stream. Up next... OHIO STATE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM OUR ENTIRE CREW AT THE ORANGE BOWL BOYS!! We are so thankful for all the support this year and love being on this ride with the best fanbase in all of sports. GO CANES!!!

  • #422: Miami vs Texas A&M Playoff Preview - Keep His Pants Clean
    Dec 18 2025

    It's the PLAYOFF PREVIEW SHOW!!!

We are joined by PGA Champion Andrew Novak, fresh off a big win last weekend, and a lifelong Canes fan - as we get ready for the biggest game we've seen in probably 20 years. As we get down to Greentree, Toast admits that he's starting to feel the anticipation, while Scoop and Roman are still pretty chill. Ro also has done a lot of film breakdown in the last week and is starting to feel a swell of confidence as he compares Miami to Texas A&M, and calls the Canes walking out with a win.

Texas A&M running back Rueben Owens II rustled a lot of Miami's feathers this week when he said Miami's run defense "isn't a challenge." And Roman breaks down what to be on the lookout for from Marcell Reed because he's not a strong pocket passer. Toast also wants to address the 800-pound gorilla in the room, asking if anyone is worried about the 11am Central start time, but everyone thinks that this team isn't going to falter in this situation.

Plus Josh Pate weighs in with his pick for the game - which goes to Texas A&M - and Roman immediately throws a monkey wrench in Pate's logic by saying it's all on Malachi Toney. Toast also gives the edge to Carson Beck in the QB battle, and Scoop thinks it will come down to how much protection the offensive line gives him. And we finally got a check in from I.P. Daley ahead of this epic Playoff weekend, and he doesn't disappoint!

Everyone lays out their keys to the game, including pinning Marcell Reed in the pocket, avoiding third and long, trusting in Carson Beck to deliver, not playing scared and getting some big plays over the top. There is also transfer portal news that has Lagway coming to Miami, which no one on the show believes, and we debate who Miami might target at QB1 and whether Sam Leavitt or CJ Bailey is that guy.

Toast cuts off some time to roast the ACC for the horrible split schedule, which everyone thinks is a horrible idea as it will drop the entire conference out of balance. And some quick congrats to Fernando Mendoza for bringing home the Heisman, as we debate where he might land in the draft. Plus we close it out with a round of Pick 'Ems for the first round of the College Football Playoff, including everyone's prediction for the Miami game!

This episode is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, the Miami Hurricane Team Store, and BeatinTheBookie.com.

  • #421: Miami Playoff Selection Aftermath - Is Estonia a Real Place?
    Dec 12 2025

Toast has a whole new background in his studio, and Scoop celebrates a milestone birthday as we kick off this week's show, which is all about the aftermath of Miami making the College Football Playoff. We also have some All-American honors as Malachi Toney rakes in titles across the board, beyond just the Freshman group, and how he could be a Heisman favorite going into next season. And everyone has opinions about what Miami will go shopping for in the portal this upcoming season, especially how the quarterback might look over the next few years.

We also take a look at the status of our two coordinators, as Shannon Dawson and Corey Hetherman's names have come up in a lot of coaching discussions this offseason. And the fallout with Miami being the last team in, and Notre Dame being the first team out, has exploded across the College Football landscape, including Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua trying to burn down ND's relationship with the ACC. That includes amazing audio from Big12 Commissioner Brett Yormark burning the Notre Dame AD for the way he handled Miami missing the Playoffs.

Our friend and our NEW MERCH partner AB joins the show to announce the new line of OBB merch available for sale at www.aboutthefans.com including the "A Gap for Life" shirt that helped change Miami's offensive direction going into the last four games of the season. And lifelong Canes fan AB talks about celebrating the moment of Miami getting selected with his 9-year-old son, and what that moment has really meant to true Miami fans who have suffered from the outside for the last 20 years.

And while Notre Dame's national media collapse was initially the story of the week, Michigan said "hold my beer" by firing head coach Sherrone Moore with cause which spun into one of the wildest stories of the year so far. Plus audio from Eric MacLain on the ACC Network saying Miami is going to be a "matchup nightmare" for Texas A&M because they are a team that cannot be bullied. Everyone also has thoughts about Utah Athletics partnering with private equity for the future of their athletic program and how this will be a test case for the entire college football world going forward.

We close out the show with Marcell Reed on RG3's podcast, responding to Robert's "Estonian" wife, asking about what would happen if Miam offered him $4 million, some funny audio of the week from UConn head coach Dan Hurley, and everyone's picks for the Army-Navy game!

  • MIAMI MAKES THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Reaction Show
    Dec 8 2025

We are STUNNED that the #10 Miami Hurricanes made the field for the 2025 College Football Playoff and we simply cannot believe that we finally leaped Notre Dame. And how did Alabama stay at #9 after that SEC title loss? There are so many emotions to process as we try to digest, including Toast and Scoop admitting they were wrong about Miami being left out of this playoff. Roman is also very happy to have been the lone voice of positivity in the grand scheme of things.

Plus we start to take a look at the game on December 20th at Texas A&M, which is somehow a Noon game (which we love for Miami) and how Notre Dame just up and quit on American by pulling out of their bowl game after being passed over for the CFP. Props also go out to Duke for taking down Virginia, even though it means they are left out of the Playoff, and accolades go out to Joe and Rudy for going all in and believing that Miami could be the football program of old again.

We also try to figure out how Alabama made it in with 3 losses over teams like Texas who are much better than they are, and how the play to keep them and drop Miami blew up in their face. And everyone tries to make sense of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Notre Dame and the CFP that ND would automatically make the playoffs if they are ranked in the Top 12 next season. Plus some AMAZING audio from our friend Josh Pray, hilarious Notre Dame fan reactions, and even Paul Finebaum shutting down Notre Dame fans for all the whining they've done today after getting passed over.

Toast also runs down the current CFP first round schedule, with A&M opening as a 4 point favorite over the Canes, and there's no surprise that the G5 schools are huge underdogs, and everyone is super excited for the potential to get past Texas A&M and have a rematch against Ohio State for the 2002 National Championship. LET"S GO CANES!!

  • #419: Conference Championship Week - $200 and a Box of Crumbl Cookies
    Dec 4 2025

We open with optimistic Scoop this week as we open Episode 419, and get right down to Greentree to start breaking down the crux of the national college football conversation... Miami vs Notre Dame in the Playoff rankings. And it becomes more obvious each week that the committee is completely changing the rules and making up new metrics to fit whatever narrative they choose. Everyone also has strong feelings about committee chair Hunter Yurachek as he tries to explain this jackassery every week on national television.

You can always gauge how far things go off the rail by whether they land on President Trump's desk, and sure enough Secretary of State Marco Rubio brought up Miami's potential to get screwed in a cabinet meeting this week! Even Duke head coach Manny Diaz agrees that Miami should be in the Playoffs even with all his history with the Hurricanes. And Texas coach Steve Sarkisian took a shot at Miami while lobbying for the Longhorns, but in reality he just needed to beat Florida and just mind his own business. Plus Roman wants to know where everyone puts their percentage of Miami making it into the Playoffs.

Signing Day was another HUGE win for the Canes, with the top class in the ACC for the fourth straight season, with some certified studs to keep Miami in contention for years to come. Plus even more audio from Josh Pate, breaking down why the Miami vs Notre Dame argument holds NO water, and even Colin Cowherd backing the U after tearing us down only two weeks ago. And we briefly touch on the Lane Kiffin drama at Ole Miss and how much of a weasel he was on his way out. James Franklin's drama with Penn State also takes the stage as we have some fun with the wild coaching hires this past week. And we close it out with Championship Weekend picks for all the big games!

  • MIAMI WINS 38-7 at Pitt - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Week 14 Recap Show
    Nov 30 2025

The Miami Hurricanes came up with one of the most dominating wins of the season when they needed it most, demolishing the Pitt Panthers 38-7 on the road and making a resounding statement for the College Football Playoff. Scoop jolins us drunk from Thanksgiving vacation and comes in hot with strong words for Notre Dame in the wake of the coming debate. And while everyone has big props for the offense, Scoop wants to know if our "A Gap for Life" jarring made a difference in the change of pace offensively.

Toast also makes a case for a positive return on investment in this coaching staff, after having very little faith earlier in the season... even if we don't get a Playoff bid after all this upswing the last month. Roman also supports Toast's idea to have an ACC Committee to ensure the best teams in the conference make the playoffs, largely due to the conference's unbalanced schedule, even if it would be a really hard process to moderate. And there aren't enough good things to say about Malachi Toney, who is not only the best freshmen in the country, but quite possibly the best player in the country. And from there the debate ensues about whether that young man should have a place in New York during the Heisman finals.

We hear from Mario Cristobal on the field after the win, advocating for Miami to be a Playoff team, as well as Nick Saban on GameDay saying Miami might be the most dangerous team if they get into the CFP. And with all that, Roman still offers a heart-to-heart with Canes fans to prepare themselves for Miami to get screwed and not get in... but that's okay, because it's who we are as a fan base. Scoop agrees, but lays out that Miami did not get screwed but rather did this to themselves after those losses.

And we close things out with some shoutouts - one to our friend Joe who hooked Toast and Roman up with bourbon advent calendars. And another from Scoop to Joe Echeverria and Rudy Fernandez for showing what it means to lead from the position of a football fan and blaze a path forward for years to come.

  • #417: Miami Week 14 at Pitt - A Little Gobbler Under the Giblets
    Nov 26 2025

Miami comes in at #12 in this week's College Football Playoff rankings, and immediately the conversation goes to all the things that need to happen for the Canes to get an at-large bid... because they won't be the ACC Champion. And Playoff math kicks into full gear as we try to figure out if a 3-loss Alabama team (should they lose the SEC Championship Game) over a 2-loss Miami team. Scoop also goes in on Joey Galloway, who has made it a point to rail on Miami in recent weeks, and Roman is beside himself that the ACC is suddenly ALL for the Canes.

Scott Van Pelt came in on the side of Miami this week, arguing that the Canes didn't have a "bad" loss, while teams like Utah haven't really beaten anyone. Roman also wants to know if Miami would rather rematch SMU in an ACC Championship Game or stay out and try for an at-large bid, and everyone falls in on different sides of the argument. And we finally turn our attention to this week's matchup at Pitt, as everyone lays out their Three Keys to the Game - which include watching their running back, tackling better, getting pressure with the front four, and playing a clean game.

This cold weather game is also a big concern for everyone, with Miami's tendency to struggle in games below 40 degrees. We also bounce around some of the bigger topics of the week, including FSU announcing that Mike Norvell would return for another season and what that means for the future of that program. Lane Kiffin's announcement also comes up, and how much this will hurt Ole Miss, but no one is surprised because Lane has done this everywhere he's been. Plus some hilarious Thanksgiving audio from UConn head coach Dan Hurley. And we close out the show with a huge round of Pick 'Ems for rivalry week!

  • MIAMI WINS 34-17 at Virginia Tech - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Week 13 Recap Show
    Nov 23 2025

It's a mixed bag for the crew as we recap a two-score win over Virginia Tech on the road... as Roman thinks it was a solid win, but Toast still believes Miami isn't passing the eye test. Ro does his best to spin a case for the committee to give Miami a shot at the Playoff, having won their last three games by a combined score of 113-34... but Scoop still thinks it's hopeless for Miami to climb high enough to get in. Roman does have a problem with Louis Riddick spending most of the broadcast short-selling the Hurricanes and trying to poison the well.

Everyone also lays out their Playoff math - speculating about what teams will jump others, and what it would take for Miami to be in that conversation if they manage to beat Pitt next week. We also jump into the guts of the game, with Carson Beck's efficiency jumping off the page to Roman. Everyone also has lots of love for Malachi Toney and Scoop immediately jokes about where he'll be playing next season. And on the defensive side of the ball, we are wondering what has happened to Rueben Bain the last few weeks because we haven't called his number much at all.

There is also a lot of criticism to go around for the ACC officials after another brutal week of missed calls and mistakes. And we take a look ahead to next week and try to figure out who will land in the ACC Championship Game, and if the ACC will even have a representative in the Playoff if the conference champion comes in with three losses. And with Notre Dame destroying Syracuse today, it's clear they are going to leapfrog some teams, and we're even more likely to see Vanderbilt make a playoff this season than Miami. And Roman closes the show with another epic rant against the corrupt Playoff Committee!
