About this listen

Joyce and her husband owned a record store and head shop. She was also in a band that opened for to go-go's and meatloaf. So naturally she was around booze and pot all the time. So she would drink and smoke whenever she wanted and it never seemed like an issue She would get black out drunk regularly but know one noticed her slipping down hill. Eventually she wanted to have an open marriage, which her husband agreed to. She fell in love and had her lover, who was an alcoholic into her home with her daughters, husband and dogs. She admits this was not they way she was raised or the values she was taught. The situation was chaotic to say the least because Joyce was always trying to keep her lovers drinking to a minimum. Then she started going to Al-Anon, which was a blessing. After awhile she realized she had a problem herself and started going to AA as well. Now she is almost 35 years sober, that's right 35 years! Tune in and her more about Joyce's journey. Remember this is a safe space for my guests to share their stories, no judgment or negativity. Just understanding.
