Ovies & Giglio get sidetracked early by the news that UNC is set to hire Bobby Petrino as its offensive coordinator, which naturally raises the question: is Bill Belichick actively trying to get everyone in Chapel Hill to root against them? From there, the guys eventually make it to the Carolina Panthers, where the pattern continues to hold and has them positioned to win the NFC South. The win over the Buccaneers somehow managed to encapsulate the entire Panthers season in one game. In college football, NC State finally snapped its bowl losing streak — but what does it actually mean, and will CJ Bailey be back? Plus, the College Football Playoff doesn’t have a Group of Five problem...it has a seeding problem. The show shifts to college hoops with Will Wade’s candid assessment of NC State, Duke finally getting burned after playing with fire, and UNC looking more complete with the return of Seth Trimble. Things wrap up with some angry calls to the OG Sports Phone about the Carolina Hurricanes, who — according to the listeners — need some MFers.

Ovies & Giglio are back to break down a brutal weekend for local sports, starting with NC State loss to Kansas. Moral victories were not the promise from Will Wade, and now the Wolfpack's NCAA Tournament path is a little trickier thanks to missed Quad 1 opportunities. Then it's onto the most predictable team in the NFL: The Carolina Panthers. They did it again, blowing a critical game to the New Orleans Saints.
