About this listen

Interview with Dr. Seth Postell, Dean of the One for Israel Bible College in Netanya, Israel. We discuss the New Testament's Use of the Old Testament. This includes mentions of how the Messiah is shown in the Bible and categories of use of the Old in the New such as typology, rabbinic hermeneutical methods, corporate solidarity, and sensus plenior. Postell discusses how Christians should be reading their Bibles and how sensus plenior is unnecessary. Dr. Postell and I had hermeneutics class together in seminary. We both received our PHD from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He studied under Old Testament scholar, Dr. John Sailhamer, and I studied under New Testament scholar, Dr. David Alan Black. The Bible Professor podcast aims to bring biblical literacy to the podcasting world and to the ends of the earth. We do this by teaching the Bible, defending biblical Christianity, and discussing the Bible's relevance to culture.
