  • Episode 10 (where my friend Kirsten shows up unexpectedly)
    Aug 22 2023

I had a plan to mark the 10th episode anniversary of my podcast with a special discussion that I actually planned in advance and just as I was heading into the studio there was a knock on my front door and my friend Kirsten was there for a surprise visit. So I invited her into the studio and she asked if we could record together and I said, Let's Try, and quickly set up a second mic and headphones and pressed Record. This is a bit rambling, but Kirsten is a vessel of positive energy masquerading as a human being, so take a listen. We'll be back to our regular monologue of complaints real soon now!

  • Episode 9 (Home of the Hobbyist)
    Aug 14 2023

Feels like every 5 months is a good time to record another episode of my weekly podcast. (Ewww...Ehhh...Ahhh...Insert Rodney Dangerfield Tugging At His Collar Emoji Here). But seriously folks, this feels like a good one. Fair amount of rambling (you love it!), and also talk about my guitar teacher calling me a "Hobbyist" (which is still bothering me) and a screenwriting coach saying I should have a one-woman-show. So swings and roundabouts. It's just under 30 minutes and better than listening to the jerk siting next to you on the train yell at his wife. Enjoy!

  • Episode 8 (where I get my first $5 tip)
    Mar 2 2023

Three weeks in a row! (Great, kid! Don't get cocky.) This is all about my first time out as an Uber driver and a little about the anti-trans sh*tshow wrapped around Spitfire Audio and getting booted from a music composers FB group simply for saying I no longer felt welcome (thereby proving my point!). Also we have beautiful 3" die cut stickers. Just drop me a note with your mailing address.

  • Episode 7 (where I smack my lips and say 'umm' way too much)
    Feb 23 2023

Full Disclosure: I'd give myself a B- (grading on a curve) for this episode. Not only do I say uhh and umm and swallow and smack my lips an annoying amount, but I ramble for the first half and then don't even have the details on the shows I want to recommend in the second half. I'll do better because I want to do better, and if you decide to drop off early I'll understand. But don't worry... pretty soon there will be 'another one!'

  • Episode 6 (where we realize it's all about me)
    Feb 16 2023

It's a new episode. Lots of angst. Lots of insight. Some complaining about The White Lotus. If you like this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing you'll like.

  • Episode 5 (where I'm verified but still a fraud)
    Nov 12 2022

I don't know how time passes so quickly (while that eggplant parmesan sandwich I had last weekend seems to still be hanging around), but here's a new episode. I thought I might talk about the sh*tshow that is Twitter or the amazing song parody I wrote of Sweet Child O' Mine, which I transformed into Sweet Biodesign (I'm the Weird Al of Academia!), but none of that happened and I still managed to talk for more than 30 minutes straight!

    New episodes coming soon(er). Promise!

  • Episode 4 (where, much like the Jedi, I return)
    Oct 26 2022

Mental health issues... they're not just for breakfast! After a 2 month break (it's not you, it's me), an energetic if somewhat 'rough' return to form. I talk a bit about cycling (no bike required) and triggers (no Lone Ranger required) and the parallels between mania and doing a podcast. I know this may sound heavy, but there's a lot of giggling (some even in appropriate places!).

Oh, and Grain Churner is not a thing (yet...)

  • Episode 2 (where I'm in control and still run out of time)
    Aug 20 2022

Every day and in every way I'm getting better and better... or at least a little less bad. We (and by 'we' I mean 'me') flex a bit about doing some home electrical (and not getting electrocuted or starting a fire), and about why I decided to delete the Clubhouse app from my phone.
