About this listen

Good evening. Northern California. I'm Michael Nally. Step outside and you might think summer arrived early. We're sitting at 73 degrees under clear skies right now. That's a solid 46 degrees above normal for early March. This isn't just a warm day. It's an opening act for a toasty weekend. Down in the Bay Area, you're waking up to a mild 56 degrees. Don't let that fool you. By mid-afternoon, we rocket to 75. Tonight stays unusually warm with lows barely dipping to 56. Sunday brings more of the same: sunny and 76 degrees. Head inland to the Central Valley and the heat is really on. Sacramento and Stockton start at 48 degrees this morning. But by 4 PM, you'll hit 78. That feels like summer. Tonight stays mild with lows around 49. Sunday peaks at 78 again. Just watch for gusts up to 20 miles an hour this evening near the Delta. This warmth is sticking around. A stubborn ridge of high pressure is parked offshore. It's blocking every storm and pumping in dry air. That means no rain is in sight through next weekend. We stay 46 degrees above average all week. A quick heads-up for the southern mountains. Gusty winds and low humidity mean elevated fire risk through tonight. If you're on the water. Small Craft Advisories kick in Sunday north of the Golden Gate. The equinox is just 13 days away. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight daily. Sunrise is at 6:30 AM, with sunset at 6:06 PM. That gives you plenty of time to enjoy the evening. If you're craving summer, you're getting an early preview. Highs push toward 80 by midweek. See you tomorrow.
