Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now leading the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, targets the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). His proposed overhauls, including expanding compensation for debunked links to autism and chronic illnesses, threaten to deplete the fund and push vaccine makers out of the U.S. market, imperiling crucial childhood immunizations and public health. This is bad.

Netflix subtly used generative AI for a fleeting building collapse in The Eternaut (eh-TER-naut), unnoticed by viewers. This marks the streamer's first on-screen GenAI footage, created 10x faster and cheaper. It proves AI can enhance visuals for modest budgets, signaling a significant shift in entertainment production, despite ongoing industry debates. This is good!

Trump's poised to sign the GENIUS Act, a stablecoin bill. Critics, including Rep. Maxine Waters, warn it lacks consumer safeguards and could enable presidential corruption and hidden foreign bribes, especially with Trump's crypto ties. The act aims to boost crypto use, yet fears of financial instability and scams persist. And this is bad.

If every American home adopted heat pumps, residential emissions could drop by 36-64%, cutting overall U.S. emissions by 5-9%. This climate-friendly appliance, more efficient than furnaces, saves average households over $550 yearly. Federal and state incentives, alongside evolving grid infrastructure towards renewables, make widespread adoption increasingly affordable and crucial for decarbonization, even improving public health through better cooling.

Yet most consumers, at least in the U.S., don’t know that heat pumps exist, let alone are a better, more efficient alternative to traditional furnaces. Modern heat pumps work in just about every climate (and certainly the vast majority of U.S. climates) and are available in various sizes, configurations, and options.

This episode the guys will attempt to demystify the mystique surrounding heat pumps, and if Jeff has his way, he’ll convince cj to install somewhere between 1 to 4 heat pumps in his home.

The "Great EV Pullback" has begun, with automakers delaying or canceling new electric models. Trump’s budget bill eliminates most EV incentives, leading to sales projections tempered significantly by these policy changes. Sounds like there’s more “Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow” in our future!

The Texas Newsroom asked for Governor Greg Abbott’s office to release their emails with Elon Musk, and paid to cover the office’s own expenses. But now the same office insists the emails contain "intimate and embarrassing" content and private policy discussions, making them confidential. Surely this lack of transparency must be in the best interest of Texans while making for great government and policy. /s

xAI's new Grok 4 AI model sometimes checks Elon Musk's X posts for his views on controversial topics before answering. Wow, even LLM’s have become sentient enough to understand and crave the wisdom of (at least!) one super-human. Yay!

And finally, your wearable will soon know if you are pregnant, diabetic, infected, or injured. One day in the future it may be able to tell the time accurately as well - on-time singularity here we come!
