 Good morning. Nevada. I'm Michael Mosby. Step outside and you'll feel something that doesn't belong in early March. This is late May weather showing up way too early. Las Vegas climbs to 78 degrees today. That's fifteen degrees above normal. Reno hits 70. Even the higher elevations across Eastern Nevada reach 65. We're not talking about a nice warm day — we're talking about temperatures that could challenge records. Tonight stays mild. Las Vegas drops to 52. Northern Nevada cools to 38. Eastern areas settle near 32. Light winds, mostly calm. Tuesday? More of the same. Las Vegas reaches 79. Reno hits 65. Eastern Nevada sees 56. The only wrinkle: winds pick up Tuesday afternoon, gusting to 20 miles an hour across the north. Now here's where it gets wild. This isn't a one-day event. This is a pattern that's digging in for the long haul. Wednesday through Sunday, temperatures keep climbing. By Thursday. Las Vegas hits 87. Friday could touch 89. And by the weekend? Here comes low 90s in the south. Reno climbs into the mid 70s. Eastern Nevada reaches the upper 60s to low 70s. Las Vegas has a shot at hitting 90 degrees Friday — which would tie the earliest 90-degree day on record. Daily and monthly records are on the table through the weekend. The only break comes late Saturday into Sunday when a weak system might clip far northern Nevada with isolated showers. Emphasis on might. Otherwise, plan on sunshine, warmth. And afternoons that feel more like spring break than early March. Slather on the sunscreen if you're spending time outdoors late week. See you this afternoon.
