About this listen
At an early age, Nan Summerfield always, “loved jewelry since the day I was born”. She had spent hours playing with her mother and grandmother's jewels.
After returning from a European back packing trip, a San Francisco company approached her to sell their jewelry collection which she immediately did to all her friends in Lake Tahoe. With her GIA certification, she moved to New York City and became part of the Sotheby’s Auction team. With five years under her belt she decided to move back to her family on the West Coast, starting her own firm, Summerfields, for twenty years, and presently as Doyle’s California Director in Beverly Hills.
Nan’s describes the auction estate sale world as a great treasure hunt for customers willing to take the time to view various jewelry collections from vintage, signature, or contemporary pieces. Bidding on one’s favorite items is exciting and involves strategic psychology to successful win or to be smart enough to wait for the next exhibition,
