About this listen

“NFL’s Century Recap” is a National Football League podcast giving an overall outline of the 105 plus year history of the professional sport. My goal is to narrate all the important checkpoints in NFL history, from NFL championships pre- and post-Super Bowl era to all the iconic figures and moments in-between. Through interviews with NFL historians, and individuals who have over 50 combined years of experience working in the NFL as a broadcaster or media member, this podcast is an insightful way to learn the history of the NFL, breaking down the most impactful moments. This podcast will be hosted by someone who has had a passion to learn NFL history since he was 11 years old, and whose career goal is to become a play-by-play broadcaster for an NFL team.Copyright WGAO/Dean College Football (American)

In episode one, I recap all the essential moments during the pre-Super Bowl era and pre- AFL foundation. I first go in-depth about the original teams from the American Professional Football Association, headlined by the Canton Bulldogs. Next, I go into detail about the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears history. I wrap up the Bears segment by recapping the 1940 NFL Championship game, in which Chicago defeated the Washington Redskins 73-0. The next classic game I went into a deep dive, was the Baltimore Colts overtime victory against the New York Giants in the 1958 NFL Championship game. As 1959 rolled around, I went into detail about the AFL, which started up in 1960, and recapped the league’s first-ever championship game. For the final 14 or so minutes of the podcast, I had an insightful interview with New England Patriots historian, Bob Nyldburg.
