But then Gianni phones him in despair and decides to let himself freeze to death on the balcony....

Emmanuel, in the disguise of Christian, overhears a stormy dialogue between Gianni and Maximilian, during which he has confirmation of the jealous "Massy's" violent contempt for him and hears Gianni claim that Massy is his one great love.

Without hesitation the boy, shocked and hurt, leaves the show and goes to Antonia's house so that he can spend some time in the company of his son Martino.

But it is late, and Antonia already has Emmanuel's couch-bed ready...

Many months have passed since Gianni and Emmanuel met at the Paradise Bar (see "Paradise Bar"), and the two are now a stable, if clandestine, couple.

Gianni has decided to organize a large exhibition of his best photos in Milan and wants Emmanuel to be present at the opening.

But some photos depict Emmanuel as a model, and Gianni's partner Massimiliano, a famous painter, will also be there...

How does Emmanuel avoid being recognized?

Gianni has an idea: he dyes the boy's hair red, puts glasses on him, and dresses him like a somewhat nerdy college student.

From now on he will no longer be Emmanuel, but Christian, Gianni's secretary.

The seriousness of the discourse engaged in in the earlier part of the episode goes out the window: the cuckoo clock, with chimes set by Gianni's grandfather, takes control of the situation and drags him and Emmanuel into an overwhelming madness.

Emmanuel (who now poses as Christian, Gianni's red-haired secretary, to escape Maximilian's suspicions) has a stormy conversation with Gianni.

It is almost Christmas, and Emmanuel finds himself completely cut off from the possibility of celebrating it with Gianni, who opts for "Massy" at a stroke. This offends and irritates him. The discussion escalates into a full-fledged argument, during which the boy proposes to break off his romantic relationship with the photographer.

But in this tug-of-war he is the weakest: Gianni will corner him.

What's more, Gianni has an unsuspected ally: his completely insane grandfather's cuckoo clock, which marks the hours at random and completely dismantles Emmanuel's attempt to get really angry.

The boy is well aware that he has fallen in love with a half-unbalanced man, and this fascinates and amuses him in spite of all...
