One of the hardest parts of moving past betrayal is growing back trust, but not just trusting our husband again. We have to learn to trust ourselves.

It's natural to want to protect ourselves. When we get hurt, we start asking ourselves what we missed that allowed this to happen.

It's not your fault. It wasn't your responsibility to see it coming.

Were you the one betrayed by your husband, yet somehow you feel like you need to take care of him and his feelings through it all?

You hear him say things like...

"I'm such a terrible husband."

"I am a terrible person."

and on and on.

We have to watch out for ourselves when working through betrayal and part of that is not feeding the victim mentality of our betrayer.

How do we tell the difference between a liar and a narcissist?

It's from their behavior and their intention behind the lies. If we take a step back and observe their behavior after they have been caught in a lie, we will begin to tell the difference.

When our husband tells us they are sorry, that doesn't always equal a change in behavior. So how do we tell when they are ready to heal and grow past this?

Do you find yourself questioning if you are asking too much of your husband? Maybe he feels like he can't make you happy or that you are nagging him all of the time.

The first thing we need to do as women is find clarity within ourselves. What are we truly asking of our husbands. Does it come from the picture of life that God showed you, or does it come from comparing your marriage to others?
