  • Weapons: Zach Cregger's Best?
    Nov 20 2025

In this episode of Did You Ever See?, Phillip and Michael dive into the new horror film WEAPONS! They discuss what works, what doesn’t, and why it’s already stirring up conversation. Along the way, they detour into the wild world of Bruce Willis, including his gloriously unhinged album The Return of Bruno, and revisit Paul Thomas Anderson’s haunting masterpiece The Phantom Thread.

They wrap things up with a fresh round of Mike & Phil Recommendations, sharing what you should be watching, listening to, or obsessing over next.

Tune in, laugh with us, and maybe discover your new favorite thing.

  • The Final Audio-Only Episode: Follow Us on YouTube
    Jan 4 2024

Y'all, it's been a ride. But we're done with the audio version of the show. And with hour-long movie reviews. We've found our calling: five minute movie parodies on YouTube. We want to thank everyone who listened for all these years. It means a LOT to us. We won't forget it. Especially the hundreds of thousands who've listened to our Rocky miniseries since it launched back in 2019. But we're focusing on the short films, so please follow us on YouTube:

    Nov 20 2023

We are going deep into the cold wasteland that is Antartica this week with John Carpenter's 1982 horror sci-fi classic THE THING.

A remake of the 1950s film THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, The Thing finds Kurt Russell and a cast of incredible character actors slowly going crazy as they try to find out who among them is THE THING! Some of the best horror effects ever done (shout out to Rob Bottin) and a killer score by Ennio Morricone himself. LISTEN IN!

  • Only the Burt Die Young: An In Memoriam Heckisode
    Oct 20 2023

This week saw the passing of an icon of cinema: Burt Young. The guy was the quintessential American character actor. He played Uncle Paulie in the Rock series, he played Curly in Chinatown, Bed Bug Eddie in The Pope of Greenwich Village, and so much more.

He was only 35 in the first Rocky, but he always looked like he was 57-68. But Burt Young turned Burt Old and passed on into the next life - whatever that might look like. Perhaps he is seated at the right hand of our Father (Jesus' Dad) in Christian Heaven. Perhaps he is chugging victory grog in Valhalla. Whatever the case, he will live on through his splendid work in the Cinema.

Dude was The Balls. No bones about it. Let us bow our heads in grief, but lift our hearts into the skies. Pour one out for the last Real One.
