A real jerk-wad is mean to everyone and revels in it. He’s shown snippets of his life, past, present, and yet to come. He totally messes his pants in fear and turns his life around for the better.

Oh, you think this is A Christmas Carol? How wrong you are, dear listener. It may clearly be based on Dickens’s classic, but this one has songs, dancing, and one gruesome death. Have a blast with this holiday episode!

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are off on a magical adventure to the North Pole! We watched the 2004 film from Robert Zemeckis, The Polar Express.

We are curious, if we exhibit signs of doubting the existence of Santa Claus, does that mean we too can be whisked away by some version of Tom Hanks to be proven wrong? If that’s possible, then Santa who? What Claus?

That might not have been why our Hero Boy had his suspicions, but it sure as heck worked out well for him. He got to drink the tastiest hot chocolate ever! He made new friends! He met the real freaking Santa Claus! Lucky kid.

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are turning into something a little more holly-jolly. We watched the 1994 film by John Pasquin, The Santa Clause.

Don’t you just hate it when you’re accidentally responsible for the untimely death of ol’ Saint Nick, and then inadvertently become the new Santa Claus? It’s a tale as old as time, you know?

That’s exactly what happened to Scott Calvin in this movie. Luckily, he rose to the occasion. He became the magical being that the world needs. Would either of us do the same? Well, the huge amount of milk and cookies certainly helps!

Look, this is a great and heartwarming movie. It brought joy to our lives. However, we’ve got a bone to pick with some of the people in it—who in their right mind would ever go after Santa like that?

What, are they asking for eternal coal in their stockings? Are they trying to make the reindeer cry? Sure, you need conflict in a story, but dang, those sure are some naughty boys. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Listen on to find out!

On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are slurping up a new, delicious movie. We watched the 1985 film from Jūzō Itami, Tampopo.

Is there anything more warming, more lovely than a steaming bowl of ramen prepared with expert care and placed with quiet pride in front of your salivating mouth? If there is, then I don’t know what it could be.

What I do know is that this “noodle western” is a joyous good time. Trust me, if you want to be delighted (or just want motivation to chow down on a heap of noodles), then this is the one for you.
