Russell Hill and Carol Clay, both in their seventies had not been seen since March 19, 2020. The pair had headed out into the remote region on a secret holiday together. The alarm was raised when a family of campers came across a burnt and damaged camper in the hidden pocket of Buck’s Camp in Wonnangatta and called police. As days turned into weeks Police held grave concerns for the pair’s safety. Had they vanished into the harsh rugged terrain? Or had something far more sinister occurred?

It was just before midnight on July 18, 1969, when the little island of Chappquiddick - near Martha’s Vineyard - became the scene of international intrigue. At the centre was thirty-seven year old Senator Ted Kennedy, the youngest of the Kennedy siblings and twenty-eight-year old Mary Jo Kopeckne. The event would stall Kennedy’s political aspirations.

June 6, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles a jubilant Robert Francis Kennedy spoke of winning the Presidential nomination in California. To a throng of media, members of the Democratic party and supporters, he said “My thanks to all of you and now it’s on to Chicago and let’s win there, thank you very much”.

He gave a peace sign and then brushed his hair back off his face. Moments later a shot rang out.

Governor Connally sitting in front of the President collapses to the right, having also been shot, but the assassins were not finished.

As the 35th President of the United States of America, he brought with him different ideals than those before him. But on November 22, 1963 John Fitzgerald Kennedy was executed. It is a dark day that will live in infamy and questions remain unanswered to this day.
