Modesto California North Stake Emergency Preparedness

  • Summary

  • Water is essential for survival and you can't survive very long with out it. Normally we used anywhere from 40 to 80 gallons of water a day. This includes water for drinking, bathing and sanitation. In the event of an emergency we may be cut off from our normal sources of water. This could be due to loss of power and or contamination. Because of this, it's important to have water on hand that we can use in the event of an emergency. If you are new to storing water, a good place to start is to store a minimum of 1 gallon of water per person per day for a minimum of three days. You should store more if you can, and circumstances allow allow for it. If you have the resources, consider storing a two week supply of water for your family. (Emergency Water Storage)

There are resources available online that can help you to pick the best way to meet the water storage needs of your family.
