About this listen

Mining critical minerals account for 80% of the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s earnings. Yet, the DRC is still one of the poorest countries in the world. One such mineral is Cobalt. This mineral is used to power our modern technology such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, turbine engines, electric cars etc. However, the mining of this material comes with a cost. Children are being raped and abused as young as 10 years old and mothers, fathers and children are dying because they lack the proper work equipment to mine, as they earn on average $1.90 USD a day. Join Noobz TK as he talks with Jevorn Daley about these critical issues surrounding cobalt mining in the DRC. Follow us here: https://linktr.ee/NoobzTK
